Product Overview

Uva is one of the seven tea-growing districts of Sri Lanka. Its tea estates lie on the southeastern slopes of the central massif, around Badulla. The Sri Lanka Tea Board says Uva tea is grown at an altitude between 1,000 and 1,600 m. The district is exposed to the winds of both the northeast and southwest monsoons, yet the weather is relatively dry. The Tea Board sums up Uva tea as exotically aromatic. Its tasters say the winds are believed to give the tea a special, unmistakable character, and that its mellow, smooth taste is easily distinguished. The Tea Board places the eastern quality season from July to September. Typical uses are single region packs, loose leaf lines and blends that need an aromatic tea. This tea is listed as available on request, as a standard export product of Sri Lanka. Packaging is available on request. Send the region, grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
