Product Overview

Dimbula is one of the seven tea-growing districts of Sri Lanka. It lies between the plateau of Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains. The Sri Lanka Tea Board classes its teas as high-grown: the regional definition sets an elevation between 1,100 m and 1,600 m, and in practice all estates stand above 1,250 m. Sub-districts include Bogawanthalawa, Dickoya, Maskeliya and Talawakelle. The Tea Board sums up Dimbula tea as refreshingly mellow, with a golden-orange hue in the cup. The varied terrain gives differences in flavour, sometimes described as jasmine mixed with cypress. The western quality season runs from around the turn of the year to March or early April. Typical uses are single region packs and breakfast style blends. This tea is listed as available on request, as a standard export product of Sri Lanka. Packaging is available on request. Send the region, grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
