Product Overview

Ceylon black tea is grown across all seven tea-growing regions of Sri Lanka, according to the Export Development Board. The Board lists Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings (BOPF) among the fanning varieties of orthodox Ceylon black tea. The Sri Lanka Tea Board explains that manufactured tea is graded by leaf size with a mechanical sifter. The Tea Board describes BOPF as uniform, black leaf tea particles that are smaller than BOP and carry no tips. It says this grade comes from the higher elevated regions. The Tea Board characterises it as bright in colour, with a strong taste that keeps most of the character of BOP. It describes the grade as suited to tea bags, which is its main trade use. This tea is listed as available on request, as a standard export product of Sri Lanka. Packaging is available on request. Send the grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
