Ranawara Herbal Drink

Ranawara Herbal Drink is made from the dried yellow flowers of ranawara, Senna auriculata (syn. Cassia auriculata), a shrub also called tanner's cassia. Ranawara flowers are the only ingredient listed. It is traditionally prepared as a herbal drink in Sri Lanka by steeping the dried flowers in hot water, which gives a golden-yellow cup with a mild taste. The existing listing describes the flowers as air-dried and packed into tea bags. Herbal tea brands, importers of Sri Lankan groceries, distributors of South Asian foods and retailers buy it as a ready infusion. The packaging list covers individual tea envelopes, filter paper tea bags, pyramid bags, foil-lined stand-up pouches, tin canisters and kraft boxes. Private label packing is listed as available.
