Ingredients

Butterfly Pea Flower

Product Overview

Butterfly Pea Powder is made by drying and milling the blue flowers of the butterfly pea vine, Clitoria ternatea. Butterfly pea flower is the only ingredient listed. The result is a fine blue powder with a mild, earthy taste. Mixed into water it gives a blue colour that turns towards purple when an acid such as lemon or lime juice is added, which is why it is used as a plant-based colour in food and drinks. Beverage makers, bakeries, confectioners, cafes and herbal tea brands use the powder to colour lattes, smoothies, rice, noodles, icings and desserts. It is also packed for retail sale. The packaging list covers laminated foil pouches, PET jars, kraft paper stand-up bags, airtight glass jars and bulk fibre drums. Private label packing is listed as available. Ask for the mesh size and a specification sheet if your application needs them. Quotes can be given FOB or CIF from Colombo, and you can ask for the order terms with your quotation.
