Natural Garcinia

Product Overview

Garcinia, known in Sri Lanka as goraka, is the dried rind of a Garcinia fruit, usually identified as Garcinia gummi-gutta (syn. G. cambogia). The ingredient is listed as natural garcinia. The fruit is cut into segments and dried until it is dark brown to almost black, with a sharp sour taste and a smoky note. In Sri Lankan cooking it is the souring agent in fish curries such as ambul thiyal, used whole or ground to a paste. Spice importers, distributors of Sri Lankan and South Indian groceries, food manufacturers, restaurants and retailers buy dried goraka. The packaging list covers vacuum-sealed pouches, PET jars, bulk jute bags, kraft paper stand-up pouches and corrugated boxes. Private label packing is listed as available. Ask for the botanical name on the documents, the moisture level and whether the segments are sun-dried or smoke-dried. Quotes can be given FOB or CIF from Colombo, and you can ask for the order terms with your quotation. Tell us which export documents your customs authority requires.
