Product Overview

True cinnamon is the dried bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume, which the Department of Export Agriculture says is native to Sri Lanka. To make a quill, peeled bark is rolled, several pieces are joined into a pipe-like structure and the hollow is filled with small pieces of bark. The standard quill length is 42 inches. C5 Special sits under the Continental heading of the Department of Cinnamon Development grade table. It is listed with a quill diameter of 10 mm, 30 quills of 42 inches to the kilogram and 10% foxing. Alba and the C grades are grouped as Heen Kurundu, or smooth cinnamon. The quills are light brown and easy to break. Typical uses are cooking, baking, desserts and hot drinks. C5 Special grade is listed as available on request, and packaging is available on request. Send the grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
