Product Overview

Ceylon cinnamon quills come from the bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum, grown mainly along the coastal belt of Sri Lanka from Negombo to Matara, with cultivation also in Kalutara and Ratnapura. The Department of Cinnamon Development says quills are graded after drying on three points: diameter, the number of sticks to the kilogram and the percentage of foxing on the surface. C5 is a Continental grade. The Department table lists it with a quill diameter of 12 mm, 27 quills of 42 inches to the kilogram and 15% foxing. It follows C5 Special, which is listed at 10 mm. The quills are light brown and formed in several layers. Typical uses are cooking and baking, soups, stews, sauces, beverages and confectionery. C5 grade is listed as available on request, and packaging is available on request. Send the grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
