Product Overview

Porcelain tableware is the first of four main product groups that the Export Development Board (EDB) lists for the Sri Lankan ceramic industry. EDB names quartz, feldspar, dolomite and China clay as raw materials found on the island, and points to a long history of pottery making in the country. EDB describes Sri Lankan porcelain as having a high level of whiteness, high translucency, high scratch resistance and high thermal shock resistance. Its sector report notes a range of body shapes and in-glaze, on-glaze and under-glaze decoration, including ornate gold work, plus Ivory Porcelain and artistic dinnerware. Makers supply self-branded and private label ware to homeware and department stores, and the sector also serves hotels. This tableware is listed as available on request, as a standard export product of Sri Lanka. Packaging is available on request. Send the item list, shape and decoration, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
