Product Overview

Cinnamon bark in Sri Lanka is sold mainly as quills. The Department of Export Agriculture says other pieces of bark are available as chips, quillings or featherings. All come from Cinnamomum zeylanicum, the true cinnamon tree native to Sri Lanka. The Department of Cinnamon Development defines quillings as whole cinnamon sticks broken into pieces less than 200 mm in length. They may contain up to 5% by weight of feathers and bark pieces, and other foreign substances should not exceed 2%. The export tariff of Sri Lanka has its own line for quillings, H.09.06.11.93. The Department names quillings as a raw material for cinnamon bark oil. A drink made by immersing pieces of bark in hot water is popular in Latin American countries. This product is listed as available on request, and packaging is available on request. Send the grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page.
