Product Overview

The Export Development Board says Ceylon cinnamon is sorted into four major grades by quill diameter: Alba, Continental, Mexican and Hamburg. All are made from the bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum, a tree native to Sri Lanka and grown mainly on the coastal belt from Negombo to Matara. M5 is a Mexican grade. The Department of Cinnamon Development table lists it with a quill diameter of 18 mm, 20 quills of 42 inches to the kilogram and 60% foxing. The M and H grades are grouped as Gorosu Kurundu, or coarse cinnamon. The quills are light brown to brown and layered. Typical uses are cooking, baking, chocolate preparation, hot cocoa and hot water cinnamon drinks. M5 grade is listed as available on request, and packaging is available on request. Send the grade, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
