Brass Kendi Vessels and Vases

Spouted vessels known as kendies, and vases, are among the brassware types that the Export Development Board (EDB) links to Pilimathalawa in the Kandy district. The EDB craft sector report records the brass ware craft industry at the same place. EDB says brass foundries are mainly spread across the Central Province and that the craft is handed down from generation to generation. These are new brass vessels made as craft goods. EDB says brassware is produced from copper and zinc, and that surface finish is the main quality point for cast ornaments. Its craft report describes Sri Lankan crafts as largely hand-made. Typical uses are home decoration, interior displays and giftware. Shape, height and finish are agreed for each order. These vessels and vases are listed as available on request, as a standard craft export of Sri Lanka. Packaging is available on request. Send the vessel type, height and finish, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
