Product Overview

Palmyrah jaggery is made from the sap of the palmyrah palm. The Palmyrah Development Board says palmyrah is a traditional crop of Sri Lanka and a source of livelihood in the Northern and Eastern provinces. Its production page lists jaggery centres in the Jaffna and Mannar districts. The board groups jaggery with sweet sap and treacle as non-fermented, sap based products. Fresh sap is collected in season and processed into these products. Jaggery appears on the board's list of palmyrah export items, and the board has also developed a spicy flavoured jaggery. It does not publish a colour, shape or size description, so ask for photographs and a specification with your quote. Palmyrah jaggery is listed here as available on request, and packaging is available on request. Send the piece size, pack size and volume, quantity, packing and destination port by email from the Contact page or the How to order page. Documents and test reports can be discussed for each order.
